Something Creepy and Some Awesomeness

So apparently these guys are waiting for a friend to hatch....

Who painted this?!

And oh yeah! Show me the way to go home. Point me in the right direction. Which way to San Jose? And so forth.

I wish this had more glasses. But I really love the paint job on this thing!

Another Helping Hand

The long pink glass thing is one of those prism thingies. You hold it to the light and spin the colored bit at the end. The bit you spin and see all the cool patterns on the inside, around and around on itself. What are those things called?

It's one of those. The green glass curls are napkin rings. I think this is the first kind I have 4 of. I have a few others, but this is the first set of four.

I love the big tile. It has a hang tab on the back, I just have to find a place to hang it. Maybe out it in our studio space.

Where I will also have space for my little helping hand. The only problem with the studio is there is no kitchen. And what is crafting without fresh tea? I can hold small things with that hand, but I was thinking it would be more fun to use as a teabag holder.

After the holidays

Sorry about the photo, it does say Egg Nog. It's really hard to take a photo of glassware.

I love the flower on the inside. I don't know what it is, but I like it all the same.

It is a shame this wasn't out before Christmas, but as much as I really love the bowl, I hate egg nog.

I have tried all kinds of recipes. I have even tried the Silk Soy vegan version.

yuk.

I love all the ingredients. It smells divine. Why don't I like it?

I can always use it for mulled wine or cider next year. Carnival glass is always pretty, no matter what is in it.

Sa-weet glassware!

These are shot glasses. I am still trying to decide what I should drink out of them. Because with cut glass detailing like that, whatever it is, should be epic!

But will probably end up being orange juice.

It is flu season.

These are so cool! I am probably going to be selling these. I would love to have them for when my parents come over for dinner. They just don't come over often, they prefer restaurants  and I do not have the storage room to keep them. *Sigh

And I am starting a small collection of oil and vinegar cruets.

And I couldn't leave behind the candle holders or salt shakers. Never can. But I do like the shape of the salt shakers. The little finial on top of them is really cute.

So Graphic! (prints)

What colors! The craziness! I have 3, I wish they fit together to make a circle.... But they don't. Super cool though. I have a party to go to this weekend, one of them may have to make an appearance with a cheese ball or something.

These plates are really pale and so delicate!

I may just have to use them. I have 2 in pink right now. I use them primarily for valentines day, but sometimes for other special occasions, like the rare times we have company. (So far, that's twice!)

The place is too small for our friends to come by, where would we put their kids?

My Christmas Present

 My beautiful book!

 And earrings.

My husband, the genius, made them for me.

They are all glass. Isn't he amazing?

Shake it Up!

I love the salt shakers. They are really large. I am going to put cheese in them. I can't wait for the next time we have spaghetti! Which might be Christmas. Our family is all spread out this year and we might stay home by ourselves this year. After just making a turkey for Thanksgiving, an easy spaghetti could be just what we need.

And who can resist a well proportioned drink shaker? Such a pretty thing!

So much Glass ware

So, do I have a salt shaker obsession or what? These are really in great condition. The silver one below is really nice too. A very heavy duty piece.

The little green glass container is really adorable. It's so small! Because the silver thing is a salt shaker! A tall salt shaker, but still a salt shaker.

Some of these puppies are chipped. But I'm okay with that. I love them anyway.

Pink Milk Glass

I love this sugar dish! It's my first bit of pink milk glass.

It is broken. But I love it anyway. One of the hobnails is chipped. At least it's not sharp.

I wish I could use this in the bathroom for q-tips. But my bathroom is green and brown. Not much room for pink there.

I'll find it a home!

Little Glass Owls

Lalalala....Christmas is around the corner, so I bought myself a little gift. This big eyed owl was calling to me in terms no one can refuse. He came home with me.

And I couldn't forget his brother. Sweet little guy.

I can put them with my fall table-scape next year!

pretty bowls and snoopy

EEEEE! Blue Pyrex! I really like this color. It goes well with my kitchen. I have red walls and a blue counter-top. (I rent, can't change much) But they go so nice with my counters. And it's a surprisingly workable combination of colors. I wouldn't have put it together for myself, but it's not bad.

With cookie season fast approaching, I can always use another bowl. I like to work in really big batches and always have something cooking. So if I have just finished the chocolate chip cookies, I try and have a bowl of oatmeal cookie batter ready to go. I find all the cookies that cook at the same temp and prepare them all at once so I only have to preheat the oven once.

The olive container is for my mom. It matches the colors of the store very well.

The other guys don't have to match anything. The owl is a bit smaller version of a bookend I already have. But who doesn't need more owls? And the Snoopy!

So cute. I love Snoopy to death. I grew up reading the comic books. I always love the baseball games. They really made it look fun. Since I just can't stand real baseball...I have a Snoopy! I think I'll put a santa hat on him for the holiday season.

More Manna and some mushrooms

Love the little mushroom. He's so cute! And a real silver salt shaker.... and some more Dorothy Thorpe glasses... and a real Fenton blue swan. Not worth much, but still pretty!

Wish I had found the mushrooms for fall. I suppose there is always next year of course!

Manna from Heaven

Dorothy Thorpe. Real silver rims. Hot damn.

Nothing else to say.

Striking colors and a reader

Look at that color! Such interesting little cups. I suppose they are for flowers, but they are very small so I'm not sure. I have some silk poinsettias that I can stick in them for the winter. I just have to dig them out of storage.

And it may be to early to get Easter decorations, but they didn't tell the Goodwill that! Good thing too. I know this bunny originally came with a dish under him and was probably sold at the CVS for a dollar or something, but I still like him.

And another candlestick of course.

A shaker or a juice jar?

I was watching The High Low Project on HGTV. I think the episode was from the 2nd season, and it was a 60s inspired living room.

They did a bar set for them on the cheap and she gave them this:

I saw it on the show and ran back to the thrift store to get the one I saw there yesterday. Good thing it was still there. (yes, I do still have my air conditioner in the window.)

This is the inside of the 'cocktail shaker'

Um, isn't it a juice jar? I'll do some research, but I left it at the store originally because I thought it was just a recycled jar. A fancy juice jar, but still a juice jar. It was $.50, I'll find out.

Summer Party!

So cold! Lets bring on the summer! I can't wait for summer to get here, maybe I'll start planning a party now. I've got to use these for something cool.

The paint is scratched in a few places. I'm not too sad about that. They are pretty awesome anyway.

Maybe I'll have a party in February. This would be great to have a summer in the snow party. Whoo!

I squeezed this bit of thrifting in on the way home from the grocery store today. Oh man. What a zoo! I needed a thrift recharge after that!

Orange-Red Moon and Stars

Moon and Stars!! I adore the moon and stars pattern. I have some in amber, and a little bit in blue. But this red-orange is fantastic!

And to complete the theme, can you believe I found star earrings?

I have been more than happy with my recent thrifting. I haven't found the most stuff, but I've tried to keep it to things that I really love and things that I'm really interested in.

Or gifts. Or things that are really cute. Or stuff I just have to have...

Point is, I'm trying!

Colored Glass and Spilt Milk

See the pretty sugar bowl! Yay! The pattern was really hard to get a close look at, but it's very pretty.

I love the blue/green color of the glass below. And the white bowl is silicone. It's a spilt milk bowl. I am always happy to find really cool things.

Glass Globes for Gardens!

I am going to use this globe in next year's garden. I am running electric to the garden around the big tree in the back. I want to hang some lights there so with this little beauty I'm going to extend a little line down to it and run some twinkle lights inside.

Or I may just pop a solar garden stake light inside.

They tumblers are cute, I'll have to look up their history and figure out what to do with them. The cloth pile is pillow cases. I keep needing more. I buy king fitted sheets, because we have a big fluffy down pad on top of our mattress and our queen sheets keep popping off. They just don't seem to have deep pocket queen sheets. But since all I need is the fitted sheet, I toss a couple blankets on top (it is going down to 44 tonight) and call the bed made! -But I am short a few pillowcases

Mug and Lantern Glass

OMG, isn't that a great mug! It's almost time for tea and schnappes!

With some graham crackers in that bowl and a candle flickering in the lantern glass.

Ooo, I may not be able to wait until tomorrow.

Except I'm out of graham crackers. And I am in need of some more water. We have to buy filtered water here, our well is contaminated.

So I'll have to wait for tomorrow's grocery run. Is there a thrift store near the grocery store? Hmm...
