I tried to make this great wreath I've been seeing on Pinterest. I love the look of it, it's so summery and cute. I finally found the right yarn. My craft stores have been out of this color for about 2 months. Seems that everyone else saw this tutorial too.

So I got my foam wreath ring. My yarn. A few flowers and some pins.

I started wrapping with high spirits. Five minutes later.....I had gotten about an inch done. Then I pushed the yarn together so I couldn't seen the foam ring anymore. And I had about a quarter of an inch. 

Uh.....how long was this supposed to take anyway?

By my calculations...5, 6, 10, 30...FOREVER! After twenty minutes, I unwrapped the anchor pin, pulled it all off and took the wreath and yarn back. Which is why there is no picture of my wreath. 

Maybe I'll make a second hat wreath for the second door. That was pretty easy.

Spotted: Amazing new project!

I have a Facebook account. Of course. My mother even has a Facebook account. She can't use it...but she does have one. So I see a lot of ads. Most of them are for nothing I want to see. But one popped up for Hometalk, and I decided to find out what was there.

I went to their website to find out more before I just liked them. Oh man! So cool. It's like a page of people who have made Pinterest projects and want to show them to you.

The fence reminds me of the movie Monster's Inc. I am a big fan of movie titles and this movie had the most fantastic titles I've seen in a long time. This fence is just like that. 

I may make the flowers. I don't have a yard to make the doors.

Salt Shakers

I've been collecting vintage salt and pepper shakers for a long time. I saw some of these used in a tablescape in a magazine. Then I saw them on Pinterest. Then I made them.

I was going to use them for my family photos. But they are on their way to a new home now. My parents sell infused sea salts in their store, each display has an info card next to it just kind of propped up against it. It wasn't quite working, so I found a solution.

Eventually I will make something like this. This is what makes Pinterest so amazing and inspiring.

restyled, thrifted wall art

This is a bit of art made from a thrifted painting. Using vinyl letters and some paint, something kinda ugly got turned into something amazing.

I'm going to keep my eye out for some nice paintings. Or...I'll find some nice un-stretched canvas fabric and paint it up, stick it over a frame and do it that way. I want to do Adele's Set Fire To The Rain, so I want a canvas with a lot of blue with some red. I may not be able to find that so easily.

I can find a bunch of terrible prints, but that may not have the same effect as doing it on canvas. Canvas is harder to find.

I'll try my best and show you anything I come up with.

Breakfast

This is my breakfast this morning. I discovered both recipes online and I do love them. The pudding is made of avocados, and it's pretty cool if you don't mind that it tastes like chocolate avocados. I think it's great with graham crackers, or in this case, Overnight Oats. In my top ten.

That reminds me. I'm out of soy yogurt. I need to stop by the store on the way home.

I use Pinterest quite often. Like the crazy person that I am, I can spend hours and hours looking at pictures of food i'll never make and things i'll never buy. I have made some recipes I found there. Some were so-so. A couple were amazing. I saw this picture there.

Aren't they pretty? They are from Pottery Barn. A set of 6 will set you back $36 dollars. For glasses. That's crazy. My first thought on seeing these however was, "DAMN! I saw two of these at the thrift store last week and didn't pick them up!" You can buy it as a set of 6, or you can get a six piece assortment with two of those, and a couple other styles of glasses too. Next time I go out I may have to check and see if those other styles are there. Maybe a whole set was donated.

So I went back to the Thrift store this morning and guess what? They were still there! Whoot!

I left a dollar poorer and thrift richer.
